Car -- an affectionate name for my new convertible VW Bug. I wanted this particular model and color for more than five years. What can I say? When I have a crush I'm persistent, at least that's how it was in grade school.
I took three people for rides with the top down yesterday. An early morning breezy ride through a posh and scenic part of town was the perfect start to the day.
Later, as the sun beat down, the scenery, companion and soundtrack were different.
Me: Yeeee! (while I drive)
The radio: Blaring The Riverdales, a Ramones tribute band
Destination: Target (regretfully and shamefully, though only for necessities. Cross my heart, hope to ... drive my car forever.)
Other tunes: The Smiths, Death Cab for Cutie, Deftones, Franz Ferdinand, Stone Temple Pilots (old school)
